Balayage Demonstration – Design 1 Salon and Spa March 16, 2022

One of the greatest things about the Beauty Industry is things are always changing; new trends, fun styles, and new techniques are things that keep our students on their toes, excited to learn more. Balayage is a very common service done in a hair salon. Balayage is a technique for highlighting hair in which the dye is painted on in such a way as to create a graduated, natural-looking effect. As spring approaches, we see a high demand for balayage from clients to get a touch of blonde, or even brighten their dark hair.

We were joined by Design 1 Salon and Spa to do a demonstration on balayage for our students. Our students were able to follow along on their own mannequins while learning the technique. Physically applying the instructions while learning it makes such a difference in education, and we love that we’re able to have salons demonstrate different/new services for our students to add to their list of experiences and qualifications.

Each student was able to do a full balayage application on their mannequins with assistance from the professionals at Design 1. After applying the color, they were shown the correct steps that follow to make sure their client leaves satisfied. Check out the photos below to see clips of the demonstration!
