September 2022 Career Fair & Fashion Show

The Salon Professional Academy held our biannual Career Fair and Fashion Show on September 20 – and what a HUGE success it was!

The Fashion Show
Each student is divided into even teams, including both Cosmetology and Esthetic students. The teams voted on a theme for this years Fashion Show. The winner was Disney Movies – but with a twist! Each team had to get TWO models instead of just one. The teams selected their favorite Disney movie, two of their favorite characters from that movie, and had to create two looks on models off of those characters. Students can use props, create a costume, do the models hair and makeup, and even choose a theme song for them to walk down to!

The Salons and Spas that attend the Fashion Show get to watch each teams’ models walk down the runway, grading each look on creativity, hair, makeup, and inspiration. The winning team receives prizes from our vendors, including Dermalogica, Borboleta, ProsperU, and more!

We had so many AMAZING looks this year! Coco, The Cheetah Girls, Frozen, and Maleficent are just a few examples of the amazing movies the students chose!

The Winning Team
Although we loved every team’s look and wish everyone could be winners, the salons and spas voted on their favorite – the winning team was Team 7, Aladdin!!!

The Career Fair
Following the Fashion Show, the Salons and Spas in attendance have the opportunity to set up a table representing their salon/spa. They bring goodies/prizes for the students, discuss future employment opportunities, and answer questions they may have about the industry. This year, we had 22 salons and spas show up!!! How amazing to have so many local businesses supporting the future professionals in the beauty industry!
