Reflecting on your time as an Esthetics student and your subsequent career, what inspired you to pursue a career in esthetics, and how has it evolved over the years?

I myself struggle with skin problems such as acne and dermatitis, it always made me feel insecure especially when I was in Jr High/High school. I became obsessed with buying skincare products and trying to find something to help my skin. In the process I started to enjoy learning about the right skincare products and routines. After being able to help my skin and confidence come back, when I learned I could do the same for others as a career in Esthetics I knew I wanted to be an Esthetician. I’ve been an Esthetician for 2 years now and it definitely doesn’t feel like it but over the course of my career I have found that I also enjoy doing brows such as laminations. The field of esthetics is known for its diverse range of treatments and techniques.

Can you share your favorite or most rewarding esthetic treatment to perform, and why do you find it particularly fulfilling?

My most favorite and rewarding treatments to perform on my clients would have to be Brow Laminations and Facials. I love seeing my clients reaction to their brows after a lamination treatment and how confident they feel after. The same goes for facials as well. It’s a rewarding feeling when my clients are relaxed enough and feel safe to fall asleep in my treatment room.

Since graduating from the Esthetics program, what professional achievements or milestones have you reached in your esthetics career that you’re most proud of?

Since graduating from the Esthetics program I have been able to travel to another state to learn more about skincare products and ways to become a more advanced Esthetician. As well as become a solo esthetician and have my own suite. It’s always been a dream of mine to have my own Skincare and Brow Boutique, maybe even create my own brand one day. But for right now I’m proud of being able to have the option of being my own boss and having that opportunity in the future. Continuous learning is essential in the esthetics industry.

How do you stay informed about the latest skincare trends and advancements, and how has this knowledge benefited your clients and practice?

Social Media is always a way I tend to find the latest skincare trends. I’m also in a lot of Esthetician support groups that will post a lot of changes that are happening in the Esthetic field around the world as well as new trends, classes that are beneficial to take, and products to help out other Estheticians. Being able to continue more education after graduation has allowed me to give my clients a more customized memorable experience. Estheticians often develop strong bonds with their clients.

Can you share a memorable client experience or success story that illustrates the positive impact you’ve had on someone’s skin health and self-confidence?

One part about being an Esthetician that I love is the friendships I get to make along the way. I had a client that had moved back home ( Michigan) after living in California for so many years. She was having a stressful move and her skin started to show it. She came to me for her first facial since she’s been back home, after a few monthly facials and advice for at-home care we got her skin and confidence back.
